Dr Dzulkefly To Lead Covid-19 Special Action Council

The Selangor State Covid-19 Special Action Council agreed to form a special task force led by former health minister Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmadto curb the threat of the outbreak.

Its Chief Minister, Amirudin Shari, explained that the action was followed by 60 percent of the people infected with the virus being residents of Selangor.

“YB Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad has agreed to lead this task force, “he said in a statement.

Amiruddin said people in Selangor especially need not worry because the situation is still under control.

“Precautions, as outlined by the Ministry of Health Malaysia, should be followed to prevent infection,” he said.

For the record, Malaysia is facing the second wave of Covid-19 deployments after the number of confirmed cases in the country has recently jumped to 117 cases.

Meanwhile, Amirudin added that the special task force would work with the Smart Selangor Command Center to track the virus using a geographic information system.

“This information will then be shared with the relevant authorities for further steps.

“The state government is concerned about the welfare of the public and will take all necessary measures to curb the spread of the virus,” he added.
