Employees Positive of Covid-19, Maybank Tower Operations Were Not Affected

Maybank has assured no interruption to any of its services at the Maybank Tower in Jalan Tun Perak here because it has taken all necessary steps after a coroner-positive employee (Covid-19).
The bank said in a statement that the employee was currently receiving treatment at a government hospital.

“The worker had been in the quarantine at home since March 1, the same day the bank was notified that the family member of the worker was tested for the virus and subsequently positively confirmed.

“The quarantine measures in the house are in accordance with the bank’s safety and health guidelines regarding Covid-19,” the bank said.

He said Maybank had carried out comprehensive cleaning work on the affected floors of the building and other public facilities, following safety and health guidelines as a precautionary measure.
“Detailed contact tracking is also carried out to identify and inform those who have direct contact with the worker and they undergo quarantine at home in addition to medical examination,” the statement said.

A Maybank spokesperson said that in addition to cleaning the office regularly, all employees facing customers were provided with personal protective equipment.

“Disinfectants for hand are provided for staff use and body temperature checks are also conducted daily in an effort to ensure the well-being of the bank’s staff and customers.
“We will continue to take the necessary steps as needed as the safety of our customers and staff is our priority,” he said. –
