Three Family Members Killed In Early Morning House Fire

TAIPING, March 24  (Bernama) — Three members of a family were burnt to death in an early morning  house fire at Lorong Merbah, Kampung Sungai Relong, Kamunting here today.

According to a spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, the deceased were identified as Jazmaniza Man, 35, Mohd Anaz Rizki Mohd Khairul, 4, and Nur Aulia Medina, 3.

He said three people were also injured in the fire which broke out about 1 am.

They are Jazmaniza’s husband, Mohd Khairul Ismail, 38; their son, Muhamad Afiq Aryan, 6, and Jazmaniza’s brother,  Jamal Azwan, 33.

The department received a distress call at 1.20 am, following which a fire team from the Kamunting Fire and Rescue Station, assisted by the Taiping station, rushed to the scene, and upon arrival, found 80 per cent of the house in flame,” he said in a statement here today.

He said the deceased were believed to be a woman, her daughter and a son, while the injured were an adult man and a young boy.

The bodies were handed over to the police, while the injured were sent to the Taiping Hospital.

The fire-fighting operation ended at 4.40 am.
