Khalid Jamlus Puts His Golden Boot Up for Sale, Bright Future Awaits After Meeting With Deputy Youth & Sports Minister

The people of Malaysia must be familiar with the name of one of the legendary footballers who have played in the Malaysian Premier League many years ago.

The man in question is none other than Khalid Jamlus. He is a former star striker that had played for Perak FA and Malaysian national squad.

Last week, the ex-footballer has gone viral on social media after an announcement that he made on Facebook Live and post about selling the precious awards that he gets during his prime as a footballer.

This includes one of the important awards to him that is the Golden Boot award. The award was given to Khalid after he is the top scorer in a season during the Malaysian Premier League, 18 years ago in 2002.

Other personal items that he wants to sell such as posters, jerseys, and medals that he won throughout his career. It is believed that he had to sell those awards after having financial problems and were unemployed for three years.

But now, it is said that the former national player might well be back to play a role in Malaysia’s football industry.

According to BERNAMA, it can happen after the 43 years old former striker’s meeting with Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Senator Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.

“Let’s wait and see. The deputy minister has proposed ways to help me move on and his suggestions are very good and something that I’ve been waiting for. They (the proposals) have to do with football,” said Khalid after the meeting.

In early 2000, Khalid Jamlus formerly played for the Malaysian national team and the Pre-Olympic squad. Other than playing for Selangor FA and Kelantan FA, his most well-known prime as a footballer when playing for Perak FA.

Meanwhile, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Senator Wan Ahmad Fayhsal said that he will discuss the matter with the Minister of Youth and Sports.

“He (Khalid) is an asset to the football industry as he has a B coaching license. I need to discuss with the minister (Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican) first,” he said.
