Air Asia To Charge Passengers RM20 To RM30 Who Counter Check-In At Aiport Counters

Most airline companies had started to resume their business after they have to slow down when many countries implementing lockdown. When lockdown has been lifted in some countries, many people wanted to travel and continue with their normal life.

With that, airline companies are trying to attract customers with interesting promotions. Apart from that, they are also coming with new rules and regulations to provide the best flight experience for customers.

Recently, Air Asia make a statement on their website about counter check-in fees to both domestic and international flights. This is to encourage the passengers to make use of the contactless technology for flight check-ins.

Passengers have to pay RM20 for domestic flights and RM30 for international flights. Air Asia will be charging the fees to passengers who are making counter check-ins in Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Honolulu.

Because of the COVID-19, the company is encouraging the customers to use self-check-in facilities in minimizing physical contact between guests and staff. The customers have a few options to avoid paying for the fees by self-check-in using the Air Asia website, mobile app, or airport kiosks.

However, a waiver will be given to customers with reduced mobility, Premium Flex or Premium Flatbed passengers, passengers that have been affected by flight disruptions, and some other exceptions.
