JKR Confirms Latest COVID-19 Case At Headquarters In Kuala Lumpur

The Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) has confirmed the latest case of COVID-19 involving a staff member at the JKR Malaysia headquarters, Jalan Sultan Salahuddin, Kuala Lumpur.

In a statement just now, the staff was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on September 16 and was admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

He was reported to have come to the office on September 7 to 9 before visiting the winding-up session in Parliament on September 10.

The staff was also reported to have paid a working visit to Sarawak on September 14 and underwent a swab test at Kuching Airport upon arrival in the state. He stayed at a local hotel before returning to Kuala Lumpur on 16 September.

He was confirmed positive as soon as he returned to the Peninsula on September 16 and continued to be accompanied by a medical team to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Following that, JKR attached a list of close contacts and travel history of the patient to the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).

“Close contact among JKR staff has and will undergo health screening and quarantine process at home.

“Proactive measures have been taken by carrying out the disinfection process on office space and the surrounding area,” wrote JKR.
