Two Women ‘Chups’ Parking Spot In Penang And Chased Driver Who Trying To Park

Those who had a chance to drive in Penang must have known how busy the city is. The road always fulls of cars at any time. Even though it is just a small island, many people love to go there either for business or for travel.

If you went to attraction spots in Penang especially, you might be realizing how hard to get a parking spot. And if you want to survey the parking lots again, you couldn’t simply make a u-turn as most of the roads on the island are a one-way route. It must be frustrating if you have to go through the road all again a few times before you can finally park your car.

However, there are some people who think that it is smart to reserve parking for their family or friends by standing at empty parking spots to “chup” it. Even though the act will ease you, but it’ll be unfair for those who found the empty spot first.

Penang Kini recently uploaded a video on its Facebook page of two women who were saving a parking spot for their friend at Karpal Singh Drive, George Town. They were seen to be standing at the spot and chasing away a driver who wanted to park at the place they were standing.

The incident was recorded by the driver who was chased away by the two women. When the driver moved into the parking spot, one of the women who were standing on the parking wouldn’t budge from the place. Instead, she took out her phone to record the incident as if the driver was the wrong guy. The older woman seemed to be scolding the driver who wanted to take their saved parking block.

After the driver moved away from the parking, the woman seemed to be calling her friend to park at the place where she was standing. This act is actually illegal in Malaysia as they could be fined of up to RM2,000 or imprisonment of up to six months under Section 50 (3) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
