Sarawakian Couple Living Without Power Or Water

On Nov. 16, a heartbreaking tweet went viral that had the attention of the people on Twitter.

In the Twitter post, @joxxanna shared Umeng Ismail’s WhatsApp story.

“Tears dropped as I visited an old pair’s home. The old woman is blind, being about 80-years-old who is being taken care of by her husband of similar age. Having no electricity, they just depend on rivers and using wood to cook with fire. My Lord.”

“Unlike them, we would complain about even having the electricity cut off, not being able to come to peace.”

“The woman’s mask is soaked from crying – reminiscing the couple’s situation that has none of our essentials. They even asked to give them fruit, since it’s been a long time they’ve had some.”

In another tweet along the thread, she mentions that anyone could lend a helping hand to the couple by donations.
