It’s Sabah Regional director Datuk Mohd Sainal Mohd Amin said TM had installed facilities that could provide internet access with speeds of between 100 and 800 Mbps at the centres involved.

“This is part of TM’s contribution in helping front liners to facilitate their works and for the convenience of those who are being treated or undergoing quarantine at the centres,” he told reporters after the launching of Sabah TM Sabah prihatin assistance mission programme by state Youth and Sports Assistant Minister Andi Muhammad Suryady Bandy here today.

Mohd Sainal said the quarantine centres that were provided with the service included the Bubul Ria people’s housing project (PPR) in Semporna, Tawau Sports Complex, Tawau Arena Hall, Tuaran National Institute of Public Administration (Intan) Campus, Taman Sri Sepagaya PPR in Lahad Datu, Sibuga Sports Complex Hall, Keningau Community Hall and Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic.

He said that TM was also working on providing similar service at the Ranau Sports Complex.

Meanwhile, he said Sabah TM through TM Club and Telekom Islamic charity body (Bakit) had collected RM160,000 from TM staff in the peninsula which would be donated to asnaf (eligible tithe recipients) and frontliners in Sabah.
