Riding Bicycles Dangerously And Recklessly On The Road Can Be Fined Up To RM5,000 – PDRM

Cycling activities seem to have become a trend at this time when it is seen that many of these activities are carried out. However, this activity cannot be done at will additionally riding a bike dangerously on the road.

This is because riders who cycle dangerously and recklessly on the road can be fined up to RM5,000. Follow a post from the Official Facebook of the Royal Malaysia Police on this matter:

CAUTION! RIDING A BICYCLE IN DANGER AND CARELESS ON THE ROAD CAN BE FINED UP TO RM5,000

Cycling activities that are supposed to be healthy exercise can turn into a tragedy if the community ignores and violates the rules of the road.

Riding a bicycle in a dangerous and reckless manner on the road is an offense and action can be taken under Section 54 (1) of the Road Transport (Amendment) Act 2020.

If convicted, the individual can be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months and can also be fined not less than RM1,000 and not more than RM5,000.
