100-km Stretch of Jalan Chikus in Langkap Closed

IPOH, Jan 5 — A 100-km stretch at Jalan Chikus in Langkap, Teluk Intan near the Attaduri Cemetery, has been closed to all vehicles since yesterday due to a cave-in.

Perak Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport Committee chairman Datuk Zolkafly Harun said the cave-in occurred at about 10 am yesterday.

“According to the Public Works Department, Landscape Section, the cave-in occurred due to overflow of water from Sungai Batang Padang due to the floods in Hilir Perak,” he said wen contacted by Bernama.

He said notices had been put up in the area to warn motorists and monitoring would also be conducted from time to time. – BERNAMA
