Interstate Travel Allowed In RMCO Areas Caused Langkawi Jetty Fully Packed With Tourists

Defence Minister that is Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri has recently announced that the interstate travel has been allowed starting from the 10th of March and it is only between states that are under Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) but strictly for tourism purposes only. Because of that, Langkawi has declared a green zone for tourism.

As expected, Malaysians would definitely grab this opportunity to travel after have been locked up in their house for a long time. A particular Facebook page named ‘Langkawi Kini’ has posted several pictures of Malaysians travel to Langkawi from the Kuala Kedah jetty and also Kuala Perlis jetty.

The Facebook posting stated,

“Langkawi Jetty fully packed with tourists to Kuala Kedah and also Kuala Perlis. Do not be lazy, We still have not won, let’s keep Langkawi to be a green zone. Please abide with the SOPs”.

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said that the travel must strictly be for tourism purposes and also only using tourist vehicles. Private vehicles are still not allowed to travel interstate. The tourism agency will need to be registered under MOTEC and they have to seek approval from PDRM before travelling.
