Travel Bubble Between Australia And Singapore Might Happen As PM Lee Plans For Boarder Reopening

Singaporean and also Australian Governments have reportedly joined forces to discuss more about the plan to enable the travel bubble between the two countries. If all discussion goes well between both of them, relatively unimpeded travel between the two countries could resume by mid-year. This effort would allow residents to travel between both countries without having to quarantine.

This plan got considered as both countries have been able to keep the COVID-19 pandemic under control. According to the proposal about the plan, Australians would be allowed to travel to Singapore without approval from the home affairs department provided they have been vaccinated for coronavirus.

Both of the countries hope that Singaporeans who have been successfully vaccinated for COVID-19 would finally able to travel to Australia without having to undergo two weeks of hotel quarantine. Other than that, they also hoped that it would be possible for people from other countries to enter Australia via Singapore after completing quarantine in the south-east Asian city-state.

Lee Hsien Loong who is Singapore’s prime minister said that Singapore has largely banned leisure travel, but has put in place some business and official travel programmes. It was also discussing the mutual recognition of vaccine certificates with other nations.

The benefits to both economies are clear as millions of people travel between Singapore and Australia or even vice versa each year.
