Walks Out For Second Time, Zinedine Zidane Resigns As Real Madrid Manager

Zinedine Zidane chose to resign as Real Madrid manager, immediately. It follows after Real Madrid’s failure to win the La Liga title last weekend. Instead their closest challenger, Atletico Madrid managed to win the La Liga title.

Earlier this month, Sportsmail reported that Zidane would step down from the Spanish giants regardless of whether they earned the title or not. He made the decision after some time he felt he did not have the support of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

It was reported that Zidane had informed both the club’s director and the first squad of the decision. The French-born manager has managed the club for two seasons since 2016, and the club has won three Champions League titles.

Zidane is expected to be a target for Juventus or the French national squad following his move out of the Bernabeu.

The 48 years old manager returned to the Real Madrid job in 2019, having previously been in charge from 2016 to 2018. Before that, he spent five years at the club as a player, worked as an assistant to Carlo Ancelotti, and coached B-team Castilla before being offered the first-team job in January 2016.
