“With Sincerity, I ‘Halalkan’ Those Who Do Such Acts” – Mydin Boss

Recently, there has been a particular video that went viral all over social media platforms in Malaysia showing that one hypermart which is located specifically in Shah Alam, Selangor got broken into. The situation can be seen to be escalated very quickly due to the desperate measures taken by many of the people who do not get enough supplies.

The mentioned hypermarket was indeed the ‘Mydin Mart’ in Sri Muda. It can be seen in the viral video that a lot of people who experienced a shortage of basic necessities decided to break into the hypermarket and decided to take some of the basic necessities that can find in the Mydin hypermarket. Mydin responded to it through a statement.

According to Datuk Wira (Dr.) Haji Ameer Ali Mydin who is the Managing Director of Mydin hypermarket stated, “With sincerity, I legalize (menghalalkan) who do such acts with the intention of continuing to survive as a result of aid arriving late and not with the intention to the contrary”. Mydin Mart branch in Sri Muda was also destroyed due to floods that happened on the 18th of December 2021 and also has caused losses in excess of millions of ringgit.
