For Podcasts That Discuss COVID-19, Spotify Will Now Add Content Advisory

As a lot of people already know, Spotify is actually an audio streaming and also media services provider founded on the 23rd of April in the year 2006. It is one of the largest music streaming service providers in the world. Amazingly, Spotify has offered a lot of digital copyright-restricted recorded music and podcasts. This would include more than 70 million songs, all from record labels and media companies. That is why people love to stream music on Spotify.

Recently, Spotify has been a particular issue that many people have been talking about regarding the COVID-19 topic. According to Spotify, “A Spotify exclusive podcast called The Joe Rogan Experience which has received backlash for repeatedly sharing misinformation, last December interviewed known vaccine skeptic Dr. Robert Malone, who promoted baseless theories about COVID vaccines”. That is why these changes are made on Spotify.

The CEO for Spotify that is Daniel Ek has revealed a new approach and also the updated platform rules to dealing with COVID-19 information because of the particular serious issue that happened. It would include being adding a very dedicated content advisory to all podcast episodes. Specifically, it would not be just an ordinary podcast but all the podcasts that discuss COVID-19. It is indeed safe to be doing it this way so that would be no false information.

In Spotify website that stated, “The audio service was created to enable the work of creators around the world to be heard and also enjoyed by listeners around the world. To our very core, we believe that listening is everything”.
