Ghostbusters Director, Ivan Reitman Dies At 75

Producer and director that is known as Ivan Reitman has died at the age of 75 years old. The particular director who indeed worked on the Ghostbusters film died in his sleep on the 12th of February 2022 specifically in Montecito that is in California. It was actually confirmed by his own family who is still keeping the cause of Reitman’s death a secret.

His children, director Jason Reitman, Catherine Reitman, and Caroline Reitman have stated, “Our family is grieving the unexpected loss of a husband, father, and grandfather who taught us to always seek the magic in life”. They also added, “We take comfort that his work as a filmmaker brought laughter and happiness to countless others around the world. While we mourn privately, we hope those who knew him through his films will remember him always”.

Reitman is famously known for its big and also sordid comedies that could definitely capture the spirit of its era. All these years, his own big breakthrough came with the delivery of the college fraternity through the film National Lampoon’s Animal House, which he produced. For those who might not know, he directed Bill Murray in his first leading role in Meatballs and Stripes. But Reitman’s most significant success came with the 1984 film Ghostbusters.

The really famous film posted domestic revenues of up to 229 million US dollars and had become one of the most successful comedies of its era. It did not just stop there, Ghostbusters was also later developed as a franchise with a hit sequel in the year 1989 and has also been brought to the millennial era by his own son named Jason Reitman.
