Omicron XE Variant, Things You Need To Know About It

Omicron XE Variant warning. It is indeed the latest variant of COVID-19 that got identified. In fact, World Health Organization (WHO) has warned the public. They said that it is more contagious than any of the COVID-19 variants.

WHO also added in its latest report. They said that the variant actually was a combination of hybrid mutations. The combinations are between two previous versions of Omicron. Both of them would be namely BA.1 and also BA.2.

5 Things To Know About Omicron XE Variant

According to the Becker’s Hospital Review website, these are some things to know about it

  1. WHO stated that this variant is in fact 10% more contagious than BA.2. Still need more research about it.
  2. The variant is actually a recombinant variant.
  3. First identified in the United Kingdom.
  4. Chinese health authorities have also identified some findings. The two new Omicron subvariants.
  5. For now, the Omicron XE variant has the same as the already existing Omicron variant designation.
