The Suspect Of The Mobile Phone Snatch Theft On The Road Arrested

There are a lot of issues in the world today. And one that has a significant impact on our daily life is theft. Theft is stealing or taking someone else’s property without permission or using force.

Every thief waits for the perfect opportunity to strike, and the ideal time is usually the one you least expect it to be.

On 9th November 2022 at approximately 10:00 am, one viral video lasting 7 seconds was uploaded by the owner of the TikTok account @alamwakaka. The viral video shows the incident of a mobile phone snatch theft that occurred on a major highway.

The incident occurred in Jalan Genting Klang, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.

KL Police gave out a statement on the theft

On 5th November 2022, IPD Wangsa Maju Criminal Investigation Division received a report from the victim. According to the victim, while the victim was in the front passenger of the car and stopped at a traffic light, the car’s window was open. Suddenly, a (1) male suspect came from behind riding a motorcycle and snatched the victim’s mobile phone, and ran away.

Then, on 8th November 2022 at approximately 11:30 pm, Division D9 of the Criminal Investigation of IPK Kuala Lumpur successfully arrested (1) man, a 32-year-old local man who is the main suspect in this case. In addition, the police managed to get the stolen mobile phone back.

This case will be investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code (Snatch – Theft). It carries a prison sentence of up to 14 years and can also be subject to a fine or whipping. The suspect has been remanded for (7) days from 8th November 2022 until 14th November 2022. The case is still under investigation by the police.

The police officer advises the public to be careful and always be vigilant to avoid becoming a victim of crime. The police also request the cooperation of the public who have any information related to the accident.
