Village Chief Survived After Accidentally Shot Himself While Driving

A village chief in Thailand cheated death after he accidentally shot himself while driving. He injured his hand and leg due to the shooting when he was driving through Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya in central Thailand. Not only that, but when he was about to drive himself to the hospital, he crashed his car into a temple.

The incident happened yesterday around midnight. After receiving a report about the accident, the police rushed there and found Surasak Prongfah, laying beside his car. He then was aided by rescue workers before being transferred to Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya Hospital.

The Toyota Fortuner SUV crashed into the temple’s fence, and the driver’s seat was covered in Prongfah’s blood. The police also found a gun with twelve bullets on another seat.

Even though the village chief was badly injured, he still could communicate with the police. According to him, while he was driving, the gun suddenly fired bullets.

He denied that he had any conflict with anyone. He confessed the tragedy happened because of his recklessness.

From the investigation, the police found out that the gun was unregistered. Due to this matter, the 37-year-old self-shooting victim was charged with owning a firearm illegally. Besides that, the police also seized the gun.
