According to Variety, Christina Ricci is taking the role of the female supervillain. Aside from that, Billy Magnussen will take the Joker role.

Dr. Harleen Quinzel, or Harley Quinn, gets her first job at Arkham Asylum after finishing her studies. At the same time, her father is very sick and in need of an expensive operation which she cannot afford. There, she meets ‘Patient J’ who can manipulate anyone except her. Thus, Dr. Quinzel uses her relationship with the patient, Joker, for her advantage. But…things will soon change.
DC and Warner Bros. have made a great decision in choosing Ricci for the role. Before this, she starred as ‘Wednesday’ in The Addams Family. Aside from that, she also acted in several other box office movies.
