It happens when the pigment cells (melanocytes) deposit melanin (brown-coloured pigment) into the nail.

This condition can be activated due to pregnancy, trauma, nail infection, etc. However, it can also happen because of melanoma, a type of severe skin cancer.

Do you have this habit: of biting your nails? If you do, it might be a sign of continuous anxiety. Not only that, but you might also experience obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

If your nails are in any of these colours, consult with professionals. A thorough health check-up will help you know the state of your body.
