Man Eats Only Coconuts His Entire Life Since Diagnosed With GERD

Since the doctor diagnosed him with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Balakrishnan Palayi has been eating coconuts to treat the disease. More surprisingly, he has never stopped since!

It may seem hard to believe, but the man from Kasaragod claims he has been eating only coconuts for the last 28 years. That is decades!

Coconuts are known to be rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium. These ingredients help Palayi to gain strength. Furthermore, he is also very healthy and fit, even in his 60s. He still manages to work on a farm. Besides that, he exercises regularly.

Although this ‘eating only coconuts’ works for Palayi, a doctor, Dr. Tishar Tayal, does not recommend anyone else doing the same thing. He describes Palayi’s case as ‘unique.’

Palayi used to be a local football player in a club when he was younger Nevertheless, he was diagnosed with GERD at the age of 35. This condition made his daily routine difficult especially when eating. The food that he had swallowed got pushed back, making him vomit.

He had tried many diets to control his disease. However, many turn to futile. Luckily, he tried coconuts and found out that they made him feel better.
