TikTok Celebrates its Community, Creativity and Authenticity in Style Through #InspirasiRaya

TikTok, a leading destination for short-form mobile video, gathered creators from the Malaysian TikTok community for a night of inspiration and celebration at the #InspirasiRaya event on 11th May 2023.

“TikTok is an immersive, entertaining platform that enables everyone to connect with diverse communities. During the Ramadan and Raya season, we have seen our communities inspiring each other with the hashtags #InspirasiRamadan and #InspirasiRaya which garnered over 6.5 billion views collectively as of today. We believe that with the diversity of experiences, communities, and content, users can build connection and understanding with each other through the shared language of video, during the festive season and beyond. That is why through the #InspirasiRaya Open House, we are glad to be able to bring our community together, starting with our creators, to celebrate the diversity and encourage them to continue inspiring the community through their authenticity and experiences,” said Darren Quek, Strategy Operations Manager, Malaysia, TikTok.

During the event, guests were treated to performances by local artists such as The Gadys, Insomniacks, Aziz Harun, Iman Troye, Hafiz Along, Gary and Hannanxal, all of whom have grown exponentially on the platform by creating content and connecting with their community and fans.

As a community first platform, TikTok is committed to inspiring creativity and bringing joy. This is made possible not only through our users who consume and interact with the wide variety of content on the platform, but also creators who share their lives on the platform. This is seen especially through videos posted during the festive season like Khairul Aming‘s 30 day Raya recipe, and Auntie Purple‘s 30 Days 30 Purple content.

Beyond videos, TikTok Shop has also saw a surge in activity during the Ramadan Raya period, particularly during the Mega Raya Fest 2023. With TikTok Shop’s first-ever LIVE selling showcase where sellers carried out in a physical event setting, over 300 sellers displayed their diverse live-streaming approach, while the other sellers witnessed first-hand how simple and budget-friendly it can be to generate significant traffic on TikTok.
