Genting Malaysia Berhad Sponsors the Malaysia International Tourism (MIT) Expo Pahang 2024

Genting Malaysia Berhad announced its support for the Malaysia International Tourism (MIT) Expo Pahang 2024 by contributing RM100,000 as the main sponsor. The sponsorship underscores the company’s commitment to promoting Malaysia as a premier global travel destination while bolstering the nation’s tourism industry.

At a press conference held at the Ramada Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Dato’ Sri Kay Atisha Parasuraman, Vice President of Corporate Relations and Communications at Genting Malaysia Berhad, presented the mock cheque to YB Leong Yu Man, Pahang State EXCO for Unity, Tourism, and Culture.

“We are excited to support MIT Pahang 2024 and be a part of this important initiative. As the operator of Resorts World Genting, the largest integrated resort in Pahang, we understand the vital role that this collaboration plays in showcasing Malaysia’s unique attractions,” said Dato’ Sri Kay Atisha. “This sponsorship reflects our commitment to fostering growth within the tourism sector and our belief in the potential of MIT Pahang to bring industry leaders together, drive innovation, and create new opportunities.”

MIT Pahang 2024 will take place from 8-10 October 2024 at the Sultan Ahmad Shah International Convention Centre in Kuantan, Pahang. It is the first government-organized business-to-business (B2B) tourism expo in Malaysia, designed to bring together key players from ASEAN and global tourism markets for knowledge exchange, networking, and the promotion of sustainable tourism practices.

YB Leong Yu Man expressed gratitude for Genting Malaysia’s contribution, stating, “We are truly appreciative of Genting Malaysia Berhad’s generous support for MIT Pahang 2024. Their commitment to this event underscores the importance of collaboration in advancing Malaysia’s tourism industry, particularly in Pahang. This expo provides an essential platform for tourism industry experts and players to share their expertise and showcase innovative solutions for sustainable tourism.”

The event is expected to attract strong participation, including 100 Sponsored Premium Buyers, 900 Invited Global Buyers, leading travel associations, and more than 10,000 industry visitors. MIT Pahang 2024 also emphasizes sustainability, with a focus on responsible tourism practices that promote environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and the well-being of local communities.
