Lost World Of Tambun Unleashes Terrifying Thrills with Screamfest 3: School of Horror

The spookiest time of the year is just around the corner, and Sunway Lost World Of Tambun is back with the third edition of its highly anticipated Halloween event, Screamfest 3: School of Horror. From 4 October to 31 October 2024, every Friday to Sunday, from 7:15pm to 11pm, the theme park will transform into a nightmare-inducing landscape of haunted classrooms, sinister hallways, and ghostly figures, drawing inspiration from Malaysia’s own eerie school legends.

A Malaysian Twist on Terror

Screamfest 3: School of Horror features eight haunted attractions that will engage guests into spine-chilling environments. It also brings terrifying Malaysian haunted school stories to life. From classrooms to libraries, science labs, dormitories, and eerie toilets, each space is carefully designed to terrify and unsettle. Guests can expect a thrilling fusion of local legends and familiar school settings, creating an unforgettable haunted experience.

Expect to walk through abandoned school buildings where eerie blackboards write themselves and lockers mysteriously slam shut, each designed to bring these folklore-inspired tales to life. Whether it’s the terrifying apparition of a Pontianak or the dreaded presence of the Toyol, these local supernatural elements will make for an unforgettable scare experience that’s deeply rooted in Malaysian culture.

At the heart of the horror lies Block Histeria, an immersive haunted school block consisting of familiar but twisted spaces: classrooms, the library, science labs, storerooms, dormitories, toilets, art rooms, first aid rooms, and a creepy canteen. Guests will feel the unsettling tension as they traverse this once familiar, now nightmare-inducing environment.

Adding to the terror is the transformation of Kepura Cave into the dreaded Gua Demerit, where guests must complete a series of tasks to escape. Guests will receive a report card before they enter and have to pass all the “exams” from a series of teachers: the Bengkel (Workshop) teacher, followed by the discipline, science, and music teachers. Only those who succeed in completing the challenges and passing each “exam” can exit Gua Demerit—or risk being trapped in detention for eternity.

Venturing deeper into the nightmare, guests will encounter Denai Misteri, where the ghosts of local legends and myths come to life. A group of famous trackers once ventured here in search of a missing girl, but they returned, haunted by fear. Now, guests are invited to experience the eerie journey themselves, attempting to locate the missing girl while facing the chilling specters that lurk within Denai Misteri.

With local haunted school legends at the forefront, Screamfest 3 promises an experience that will stay with you long after you leave. Will you pass the exams and escape, or will you be haunted by the memories of Screamfest 3 forever?

Pushing the Boundaries of Fear

Sunway Lost World Of Tambun has continuously pushed the boundaries of horror to a higher level. This year’s event aims to be the most immersive and terrifying yet, building upon the success of its predecessors while introducing fresh horrors.

“We’ve taken great care to design every detail of Screamfest 3: School of Horror with both local and international guests in mind,” says Mr Nurul Nuzairi, Senior General Manager of Sunway Theme Parks. “By incorporating elements of Malaysia’s haunted school folklore, we’re offering something that’s not only frightening but also culturally significant. This will make the experience all the more terrifying and immersive for those familiar with the stories.”

Fun for All (If You Dare!)

While Screamfest 3 is a must-visit for thrill-seekers and horror enthusiasts, the event also offers a variety of activities that cater to different levels of courage. For those who prefer milder scares, there will be Halloween-themed games, spooky food stalls, and eerie photo opportunities to create lasting memories without the fear factor.

Sunway Lost World Of Tambun also ensure that the event is family-friendly, with designated areas for younger visitors to enjoy light-hearted Halloween fun.
