Taipei Fashion Week 2024, Asia’s Four Major Fashion Weeks, is Here!

The highly anticipated annual fashion event, Taipei Fashion Week 2024, is now in full swing, inviting fashion enthusiasts from around the world to dive deeper into Taipei’s vibrant fashion scene! Taipei is host to one of Asia’s four major fashion weeks, along with those in Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai. This year’s Taipei Fashion Week coincides with the 140th anniversary of the city’s founding, and with the theme “Dress Code: Taipei,” it invites everyone who calls Taipei home to reflect on the past and create anew by expressing their own vision of Taipei through everyday fashion.

The highly anticipated Taipei Fashion Week Cross-Boundary Fashion Show will take place on October 20, featuring the latest collections from renowned Taiwanese designers—ALLENKO3 (Allen Ko), BOBJian (Bob Jian), ClaudiaWang (Claudia Wang), CHIA HSUAN STUDIO (Chia-Jui Chen), JUST IN XX (Justin Chou), and PCES (Jessica Chang, Sandy Lee, Bruno Chung). Embracing the theme “Dress Code: Taipei,” this event will transform Xinyi District’s Xingya Road into a creative fashion hub. With a mix of cutting-edge fashion design, immersive music, and performances by models and artists, the show will transport the audience through a journey across time and space, offering a completely new cross-disciplinary fashion experience.

Taipei Fashion Week also connects with the fashion hotspots of Xinyi District, the trendy East District, and the fabric hub of Dadaocheng, expanding the influence of fashion throughout the city. This includes the opening of a designer pop-up store on the 3rd floor of Breeze Xinyi, featuring the Taipei Fashion Week Select Shop, which will be open until December 30. The store showcases a curated collection of trendy Taiwanese brands, including works from internationally renowned designers and rising talents. On top of that, a total of 48 popular boutiques across Dadaocheng, East District, and Xinyi District will participate, offering a variety of fashion accessories, cafés, and unique dining experiences. Each store will also introduce limited-time products and exclusive deals during Taipei Fashion Week.

Abe Chou, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration Office in Kuala Lumpur shares, “As Taiwan continues to position itself as a Muslim-friendly destination, Taipei is emerging as one of the most promising cities for Muslim-friendly travel. We warmly welcome Muslim visitors from Malaysia and fashion lovers alike to explore Taiwan’s fashion trends and shopping scene during Taipei Fashion Week!”

Taipei: The Most Promising Muslim-Friendly Tourist City

In the 2024 “Global Muslim Travel Index,” Taipei was awarded the “Most Promising Muslim-Friendly Tourist Destination City” for the first time. Currently, Taipei boasts over 60 Muslim-friendly accommodations and dining establishments, along with more than 30 locations, including public spaces, that provide prayer rooms or ablution facilities.

Major hubs like Taoyuan International Airport, transportation stations such as Taipei Main Station, and large venues including TWTC Hall 1, Nangang Exhibition Center, and Taipei International Convention Center are all equipped with ablution facilities and prayer rooms. To enhance the international exposure of Taipei’s Muslim-friendly environment, Taiwan has also been actively encouraging local attractions and hospitality providers to apply for Muslim-friendly certification in recent years.
