Paris Baguette Elevates Global Standards with the Launch of Its First Halal Food Hub in Johor, Malaysia

Paris Baguette, the internationally renowned bakery brand under SPC Group, has officially opened its first Halal food hub in Johor, Malaysia. This milestone was graced by YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi, the Menteri Besar of Johor, Mr. Yeo Seung-bae, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Malaysia and Mr. Hur Young In, Chairman of SPC Group marking a key milestone in Paris Baguette’s global expansion. This new facility strengthens the brand’s supply chain while reinforcing its commitment to the highest international food safety and quality standards, underscored by Malaysia’s globally recognised Halal certification process.

The launch of the Paris Baguette Regional Halal Food Hub is a strategic move to strengthen the brand’s global supply chain while catering to the rapidly growing demand for high-quality Halal bakery products worldwide. With Malaysia’s globally recognised Halal certification process—one of the most stringent in the world—this new facility stands as a testament of Paris Baguette’s dedication to excellence, ensuring that every product meets the strictest hygiene, safety, and compliance standards.

Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, CEO of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), applauded the launch of Paris Baguette’s first Halal- certified production facility in Johor Bahru as a defining step in cementing Malaysia’s status as the epicentre of global Halal food manufacturing and exports. “SPC Group’s investment is a resounding endorsement of Malaysia’s world-class Halal ecosystem and its pivotal role in fuelling the surging global demand for Halal-certified products. This cutting-edge facility not only strengthens Paris Baguette’s foothold in Malaysia but also serves as a springboard for its expansion across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Australia. The Paris Baguette Regional Halal Food Hub in Johor represents a RM260mil investment and includes seven advanced production lines capable of producing 100million bakery products per year. The facility’s strict Halal certification ensures the highest standards in food production, while also creating new job opportunities for the local workforce.

This new hub will also benefit from Malaysia’s strategic location within the JS-SEZ, offering seamless connectivity to both local and international markets. As a key pillar of Paris Baguette’s expanding supply chain across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and beyond, this facility will enable the brand to meet the growing demand for Halal- certified bakery products while upholding the highest standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency in every product.
