Pocky Unveils Limited Edition Durian & Ondeh-Ondeh Flavours to Celebrate Merdeka with a Taste of Heritage

In a delicious tribute to Malaysia’s 68th Merdeka Day, Glico Malaysia has launched two Limited Edition Pocky flavours inspired by beloved local treats, Pocky Durian and Pocky Ondeh-Ondeh, inviting Malaysians to “Share the Taste of Heritage”.

Crafted with real, natural ingredients, Pocky Durian is coated in rich, creamy durian chocolate made from the King of Fruits, while Pocky Ondeh-Ondeh pairs pandan-infused chocolate with real desiccated coconut over a palm sugar-flavoured biscuit stick, echoing the nostalgic taste of the traditional kuih. Both flavours are encased in vibrant Peranakan-inspired packaging that celebrates Malaysia’s cultural richness.

To mark the launch, Glico Malaysia unveiled a specially commissioned mural by renowned street artist Abdulrashade along Jalan Doraisamy in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur. The colourful artwork fuses Peranakan motifs with youthful energy, symbolising unity, diversity, and Malaysia’s shared love for local food.

“With Pocky Durian and Pocky Ondeh-Ondeh, we’re blending flavour, culture, and creativity,” said Lee Yeen Theng, Managing Director of Glico Malaysia. “The mural captures this spirit perfectly, a celebration of unity and heritage as we mark Merdeka together.”

The mural’s location, near Heritage Row and popular local food spots, serves as a perfect backdrop for visitors to snap and share their Merdeka moments. Abdulrashade, who grew up in Penang’s Peranakan culture and whose family owns a durian plantation, said the piece is deeply personal and reflects Malaysia’s harmony and cultural pride.

Pocky Durian and Pocky Ondeh-Ondeh are now available at leading supermarkets, convenience stores, and online via Shopee at RM3.40 per box.
