iCAUR Malaysia today announced that the iCAUR V23 has achieved a full 5-Star rating under the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP), recording an impressive overall score of 91.02 points.

This achievement reflects the strong and well-rounded performance of the iCAUR V23 across key safety evaluation criteria, underscoring iCAUR’s commitment to delivering high levels of vehicle safety while embracing its adventurous “Born to Play” spirit.

Commenting on the milestone, Men Lin Bo, Executive Vice President of Chery Corporate Malaysia, said,

The iCAUR V23 introduces a dynamic and exciting approach to EV mobility, without compromising on safety. This 5-Star ASEAN NCAP achievement reinforces our commitment to providing high safety standards, while also highlighting our close collaboration with the Malaysian Government and agencies such as MIROS to enhance vehicle safety awareness and standards nationwide.

The iCAUR V23 was assessed under the current ASEAN NCAP 2021–2025 protocols, achieving:

  • 39.71 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP)
  • 16.67 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP)
  • 17.14 points for Safety Assist Technologies (SAT)
  • 17.50 points for Motorcyclist Safety (MS)

This strong all-round performance earned the iCAUR V23 its 5-Star overall rating, placing it among the top-performing vehicles evaluated under the current protocol. 

Notably, it is also the first fully electric rugged SUV to be assessed by ASEAN NCAP.

Irresistible Features to Maintain Thrill Adventures Ahead

Designed to balance rugged capability with advanced safety, the iCAUR V23 features a robust body structure built on a cage-like frame comprising 70% high-strength steel

This is complemented by an advanced Battery Management System (BMS) that offers high-voltage protection and efficient thermal management, ensuring battery safety even in the event of a collision.

These features provide dependable protection for daily commuting as well as more demanding driving conditions.

In addition, the iCAUR V23 comes standard with six airbags and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for both the 2WD and iWD variants. 

Safety performance is further enhanced by millimetre-wave radar integrated into the vehicle body, delivering improved detection accuracy across a wide range of driving scenarios.
