Gardenia Brings Smiles to the First Day of School in 2026 with Tasty Squiggles Snacks

To create sweet memories and further brighten the first day of the 2026 school term, Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn. Bhd., through its brand Gardenia Squiggles, distributed more than 1,300 packs of delicious snacks to Primary One to Primary Six students at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Sri Damansara 1, Selangor.

The programme is part of the Back to School with Gardenia Squiggles 2026 initiative, aimed at creating a cheerful first-day school atmosphere especially for Primary One students, while helping to ease first-day jitters and foster a positive mindset as students begin the new academic year.

“The first day of school is often filled with nervous excitement, not only for students but also for parents. At Gardenia, we want to be part of this meaningful moment by bringing joy and a touch of care through Squiggles, a delicious snack for children. Squiggles is more than just a snack; it is a roll that brings back a sense of nostalgia in every bite.

With two all-time favourite flavours, Funky Strawberry and Choco Malto, Squiggles continues to spread happiness to everyone, regardless of age,” said Puan Ena Suhaila Abas, Senior Marketing Manager of Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn. Bhd.

“This initiative reflects our way of caring for the school community, including teachers, parents, and students, who have always been part of Gardenia’s journey in nurturing a generation that is cheerful, active, and full of energy,” she added.

The programme, held from 6.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m., was warmly welcomed by the entire school community. The presence of the Gardenia team added cheer to students at the school entrance as Squiggles snacks were distributed. Adding to the excitement, the first 10 students to arrive at school received special gifts as a form of encouragement to foster good habits and enthusiasm in starting the school day early.

The programme was further enlivened by a brief interactive session with students through a quiz activity during the school assembly. The session not only created excitement among the students but also subtly introduced fun snack choices that can be enjoyed at any time. The response was highly encouraging, with students confidently stepping forward to answer questions and win prizes.

Gardenia intends to continue and expand similar initiatives to other schools in the future as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting positive learning environments while nurturing motivation and excellence among school children.
