Malaysia’s First THE GUNDAM BASE Opens at Fahrenheit88

Malaysian fans of the iconic Gundam franchise now have a new destination to celebrate their passion with the opening of THE GUNDAM BASE Malaysia, the country’s first official flagship retail concept dedicated to Gundam and Gundam plastic model kits (Gunpla).

Recognised globally as the official home of Gundam and Gunpla, THE GUNDAM BASE arrives in Malaysia through Bandai Namco Asia and local distributor Litt Tak Sdn. Bhd.. Located at fahrenheit88, the store brings together exclusive Gundam and Gunpla models, limited-edition collectibles, immersive exhibits and interactive model-building experiences, creating a vibrant destination for collectors, hobbyists and newcomers alike.

Visitors are welcomed at the store entrance by a striking 1.8-metre RX-78-2 Gundam statue in the exclusive GUNDAM BASE colours. The store also features a dedicated photo booth where fans can pose against a blueprint backdrop of the iconic mobile suit.

Bringing the Global Gundam Experience to Malaysia

Bandai Namco Group, Japan, said the opening underscores its commitment to bringing the Gundam experience closer to fans across Southeast Asia.

Conceived as a flagship destination, THE GUNDAM BASE offers an immersive world of Gundam and Gunpla. With its Malaysia debut, the company aims to bring this experience to local fans while advancing its vision of ‘Fun for All into the Future’.

By integrating retail, learning and community engagement, it is designed as a hub where fans can fully explore the creativity and craftsmanship of Gundam model building. Daily interactive model building workshops will be held between 12pm – 3pm & 5pm – 8pm, commencing April 20th 2026. *Subject to change. Please check our social media for updates.

THE GUNDAM BASE Malaysia features a wide range of Gundam plastic model kits across multiple grades including Entry Grade (EG), High Grade (HG), Real Grade (RG), Master Grade (MG) and Perfect Grade (PG), catering to both beginners and experienced builders.

A New Hub for the Malaysian Gundam Community

Mr Tan Ee Chian, Executive Director of Litt Tak, said, “The store marks an important milestone for Malaysia’s strong and passionate community of Gundam enthusiasts. THE GUNDAM BASE Malaysia provides fans with a dedicated hub where they can access authentic products, discover exclusive releases and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
