“Polong” The Dark Legacy Returns To Claim Lives!

Kuala Lumpur, 28 May 2026 – Every sin left unforgiven will eventually demand its price. Polong, a horror thriller film directed by Zulkarnain Azhar, is set to haunt cinemas nationwide starting 28 May 2026. Exploring themes of black magic legacy, regret and generational curses, the film promises a terrifying cinematic experience that not only disturbs emotions but also touches the darkest corners of human nature.

Produced by Golden Star Pictures Sdn. Bhd. (GSPSB) with distribution support from 10 Star Cinemas Sdn Bhd and marketing collaboration with Primeworks Studios, Polong stars a talented cast including Mimi Lana, Fad Anuar, Namron, Jun Lojong, Amir Nafis and Nadiya Nisaa. The film blends traditional horror elements with a deeply psychological narrative, making it far more than just an ordinary horror story.

Polong follows Fatima (Mimi Lana), an ambitious journalist who unintentionally uncovers the dark past of Maria Hadi (Jun Lojong), a notorious female shaman who once attempted to repent for her sins at the end of her life. However, her search for the truth not only exposes past crimes but also unleashes something far more dangerous, an entity once nurtured and controlled by Maria herself.

Now hunted by an unexplainable force, Fatima seeks refuge with Marissa (Nadiya Nisaa), Maria’s estranged daughter who has been living in isolation. In an attempt to stop the curse from growing stronger, Marissa faces her greatest dilemma: embracing the dark inheritance left behind by her mother or finding a way to end the deadly legacy once and for all.

Polong attempts to portray that certain legacies do not bring protection, but instead destruction to the next generation. To me, the greatest fear does not come solely from supernatural beings, but from humans who are willing to do anything to fulfill their desires.” explained director Zulkarnain Azhar.

At the same time, shadows of the past continue to linger, revealing how unresolved sins can seep into the lives of the next generation. How far can one truly run from the past?

Don’t miss the opportunity to experience Polong in cinemas starting 28 May 2026. Prepare yourself to confront a fear that comes not only from the outside, but also from within.
