PETRONAS Twin Towers to Host Global Tower Leaders for World Federation of Great Towers 2026 Conference

KUALA LUMPUR, 24 June 2026 – PETRONAS Twin Towers will host the World Federation of Great Towers (WFGT) Annual Members Conference 2026 from 14 to 18 September 2026, bringing together approximately 100 delegates from around the world. Participation at the conference includes leading tower operators and industry experts, who will be here for a week of exchange, collaboration and future-focused dialogue.

As the centrepiece of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) precinct, the PETRONAS Twin Towers is an integral part of the KLCCP Stapled Group asset portfolio, held under KLCC Real Estate Investment Trust (KLCC REIT). KLCCP Stapled Group—comprising KLCC Property Holdings Berhad and KLCC REIT— is the largest and only stapled security in Malaysia, with a diverse portfolio of iconic landmarks and premier commercial assets.

The World Federation of Great Towers, founded in 1989, is a not-for-profit international network comprising more than 50 iconic towers across over 20 countries, collectively welcoming over 45 million visitors annually.

The Annual Conference serves as a closed-door platform for members to exchange best practices, share operational insights, and explore new approaches to enhancing visitor experience and commercial sustainability.

Positioning Malaysia on the Global Stage

Hosting the WFGT Annual Conference 2026 reinforces national efforts under the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign to elevate tourism, attract international visitors, and strengthen the country’s global presence.

Bringing together decision-makers from some of the world’s most visited and recognisable landmarks, the conference is expected to create meaningful opportunities for knowledge exchange, industry benchmarking, and long-term collaboration—contributing not only to the advancement of tower tourism, but also to the broader visitor economy.

A Future-focused Conversation on Global Experiences

Anchored on the theme, “In Pursuit of Excellence”, this conference will explore how landmark towers can remain relevant in a rapidly evolving tourism landscape—where travellers increasingly seek immersive, meaningful, and technology-enabled experiences.

Through curated sessions, expert presentations and peer-led discussions, delegates will examine innovative approaches to transforming traditional observation experiences into dynamic, multi-dimensional destinations that drive engagement, repeat visitation and new revenue streams.

Datuk Sr Mohd. Salem Kailany, Chief Executive Officer of KLCC Property Holding Berhad and KLCC REIT, said

“Hosting the WFGT Annual Conference 2026 is a proud moment for us and for the PETRONAS Twin Towers. It reflects the confidence of the global community in our ability to deliver world-class experiences while bringing together leading voices in tower tourism.”

“This platform allows us to showcase not only the PETRONAS Twin Towers, but also the KLCC Precinct broader strength as a vibrant, welcoming and future-ready destination. This is an opportunity for us to foster meaningful partnerships, exchange ideas, and collectively shape how iconic landmarks continue to evolve as destinations of global significance.”

Encik Ezarisma Azni Mohamad, Chief Executive Officer of Petrosains Sdn Bhd, that manages the operations of the observatory decks at the PETRONAS Twin Towers said,

“As the operator and curator of the PETRONAS Twin Towers Sky Xperience, we are proud to play a leading role in bringing together some of the world’s most iconic towers and tourism destinations onto one global platform.”

“This conference reflects our growing strength in delivering meaningful, people-centric visitor experiences that blend culture, discovery and innovation. Through PETRONAS Twin Towers Sky Xperience, we remain committed to curating immersive experiences that inspire curiosity and connection, and we look forward to welcoming global tower leaders to Kuala Lumpur with the warmth and hospitality we are known for.”

Jean-Yves Ghazi, Executive Director of the World Federation of Great Towers, said

“We are delighted to partner with PETRONAS Twin Towers and host the Federation’s annual conference in Kuala Lumpur, home of some of the best-in-class hospitality. The PETRONAS Twin Towers represent one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, and Malaysia offers a compelling destination with a strong tourism vision and welcoming culture.”

“Our annual conference is a significant and prime platform for members to come together, exchange ideas and solve shared challenges, innovate and learn from each other’s best practices. As expectations of travellers continue to evolve, these conversations are essential in helping our members reimagine how great towers can deliver more engaging, meaningful and future-ready experiences.”

The conference will be supported by fellow Malaysian WFGT member towers, Kuala Lumpur Tower and Kuantan 188, which will host curated delegate experiences and excursions—offering visiting members a broader perspective of Malaysia’s diverse tower attractions and destination offerings.

While the conference remains exclusive to WFGT members, its presence in Kuala Lumpur underscores Malaysia’s growing role in the global tourism landscape—bringing together international expertise, strengthening destination collaboration, and reinforcing Kuala Lumpur’s position as a gateway for world-class visitor experiences.
