Malaysia Gets Sixteen New Football Pundits!

AMPANG, 2 JULY 2026 – As football fever reaches a crescendo for the FIFA World Cup 2026, Malaysian fans are about to get introduced to the country’s most unique sports analysts. Local beverage brand Coco Loca that supplies premium pandan coconut and wholesome nutrition partner Real Food have officially announced a collaborative partnership with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to launch a heartwarming, first-of-its-kind “Furry Forecast” campaign.

Moving away from traditional marketing fanfare associated with the beautiful game, this initiative completely reimagines fan engagement with a refreshing and heartwarming approach. Instead of human experts, Malaysia is getting 16 new football “pundits”, consisting entirely of the adorable, rescue cats and dogs of SPCA Selangor.

Starting from the high-stakes Round of 16 onwards, these furry pundits will use their natural intuition to select their favoured teams of each match, giving Malaysian fans – especially animal lovers – a uniquely novel and adorable way to follow the tournament, while adding a dose of lighthearted fun to the national football conversation.

By positioning shelter animals as its primary focus, the campaign brings a playful and compassionate twist to the tournament, connecting fans to these lovable animals through their shared love for the game.

Every “Furry Forecast” will be shared across social media, while serving as a powerful vehicle to highlight the individual personalities of these animals, paving a direct pathway for adoption and giving these rescue stars a real shot at finding their forever homes.

The innovative concept was brought to life through the creative orchestration of leading PR and storytelling agency GO Communications, which initiated and facilitated the tripartite partnership between SPCA, Real Food, and Coco Loca.

By uniting purpose-driven local brands with a vital community cause, the initiative shapes a campaign that seamlessly blends sports marketing with impactful social advocacy.

Christine Chin, Chairman of SPCA Selangor said,

“We are thrilled to welcome Real Food and Coco Loca as our partners for this creative campaign. Our shelter is filled with amazing, loving animals who just want to be part of a family. Bringing them into the football fever spotlight is a brilliant way to showcase their unique characters, and remind Malaysians of the joy that rescued animals bring into a home. Whether they are accurate in deciding the winners of this year’s World Cup, one thing is clear – they are already winners in our hearts.”

Positioned as the Official Celebratory Partners for this football campaign, Real Food, alongside Coco Loca aim to sweeten the match-watching experience for fans across the nation while anchoring the excitement in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

“As a veterinarian, it’s natural for me to champion a cause that supports animal welfare, so when SPCA reached out to us, it really was a no-brainer. I’ve spent my career knowing that what goes into a body matters — every single ingredient, every process, every choice. That conviction is the same reason Real Food exists. We got tired of a food system that over-processes, over-promises, and under-delivers. This campaign with SPCA resonated with us immediately, because it’s built on the same instinct: that there’s real value in what’s genuine, unpretentious, and often overlooked.  Add football fever into the mix and it’s gold!  We’re proud to stand behind these sixteen furry pundits — and behind the families who might just take one home,” said Dr. I-lene Tan, Co-Founder and CEO of Real Food Real Good Sdn Bhd.

“The “Furry Forecast” video drops will officially kick off a day before each match in the Round of 16. Football fans and animal lovers alike can catch the updates and follow their favorite pundits’ predictions by visiting the official social media pages of all partners respectively:

As the world tunes in to watch football history unfold, the true victory of the Furry Forecast campaign lies far beyond the pitch. Coco Loca, Real Food, and SPCA invite all Malaysians to join in the fun, share in the forecasts, and perhaps even find a new teammate for life.

Because while football tournaments eventually crown a single champion, the ultimate goal of this campaign is ensuring that every single one of these 16 furry pundits walks away with the grandest prize of their lives – a loving family and a place to truly call home.
