What started as a simple curiosity to try a new tea drink ended with one Malaysian winning a home for his family.
More than 500,000 entries were submitted for the ZUS Tea Giveaway: Scratch & Win, which ran from 6 to 31 July 2026 alongside the launch of ZUS Tea Fresh Brew Series.
The campaign featured prizes ranging from a property and electric cars to wellness, entertainment and food and beverage rewards.
But for grand prize winner Muhammad Shahrizal, the biggest surprise was winning a home, something he now hopes to give to his mother.
“I never imagined that a simple curiosity to try a drink would turn into such a life-changing surprise,” he said.
Shahrizal admitted that he initially thought the winning email might not be real and checked with his friends several times before believing the news.
Now, his biggest excitement is being able to gift the house to his mother, who has long dreamed of having a more comfortable home.
The winners were recently celebrated at a prize-giving ceremony held at ZUS COFFEE’s Sunway Wangsa Mall outlet.
The giveaway was launched alongside ZUS Tea Fresh Brew Series, which includes Da Hong Pao Milk Tea, White Peach Oolong Milk Tea and Jasmine Milk Tea.
For ZUS COFFEE, the campaign was also about celebrating the everyday moments that happen over a cup of tea — whether it is catching up with friends, taking a break or simply enjoying a favourite drink.
With one simple purchase turning into a life-changing surprise for Shahrizal, this giveaway certainly made tea time a little more memorable.
