adidas HyperRelay Brings 80 Runners Together for a High-Energy Running Challenge

adidas Malaysia brought the running community together for adidas Hyperrelay, the latest chapter in its Hyperboost journey throughout the year. Taking the energy underground, the 500-metre team relay brought runners together to push the pace, work as a team and experience running in a whole new way.

Spotlight on the adidas Hyperboost Edge

At the heart of the experience was the adidas Hyperboost Edge, winner of the 2026 Runner’s World Shoe Award after being tested against more than 100 models. Designed for a lightweight and responsive ride, the shoe combines Hyperboost Pro foam, a PRIMEWEAVE upper and LIGHTTRAXION outsole to deliver cushioning, energy return and responsiveness across every run.

Hosted in collaboration with LariLAH at LahLahLand, MIECC, the event brought together 16 teams and 80 runners from 11 running clubs, alongside spectators and members of the wider running and sneaker community who came down to experience the action.

Built around the spirit of RUN HYPER, adidas Hyperrelay brought teams head-to-head in a high-energy 500-metre relay. With five runners per team taking on one lap each, every handover, stride and split second mattered.

Upbound emerged as the overall champion, followed by adidas Hybrid Squad  in second place and Brand New Waves Team 2  in third place. The top 4 teams were also recognised during the prize-giving session, celebrating the runners who pushed their pace and their teams through every stage of the competition.

The Hyperboost Edge was integrated throughout the event, with runners able to experience the footwear through dedicated trial and display areas, while the four semifinalist teams received adidas running shoes ahead of the final stages — bringing performance directly into the heart of the competition.

More Than Just a Race

Beyond the race, adidas Hyperrelay transformed LahLahLand into a space for the wider running and sneaker community to come together. Music, refreshments, photo opportunities and an after-party kept the energy going after the final race, with DJ JHIN taking over the decks following the semifinal rounds.

Marking adidas’ first running activation at LahLahLand, adidas Hyperrelay brought together the performance-driven world of running with the venue’s broader sneaker and youth culture. From runners on the track to supporters in the crowd, adidas Hyperrelay created a shared space for the community to run, connect and celebrate the culture surrounding the sport.

Through adidas Hyperrelay, adidas Malaysia continues to create platforms that bring people together through sport, connecting performance with the energy, community and culture that keep running moving forward.
