CEO Sime Darby is Positive COVID-19

KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Bhd Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Jeffri Salim Davidson has been positively identified as COVID-19 and is currently undergoing quarantine and medical treatment.

In a statement today, the group said Jeffri had never visited any of Sime Darby’s premises in the past 16 days.

“The workers who have been in contact with him during this period have undergone their own quarantine and are receiving the necessary medical examination,” he said.

The group said it was working with relevant authorities to ensure the health and safety of its employees, including conducting contact checks to determine who else had contact with GCEO.

“Group Chief Financial Officer Mustamir Mohamad has taken over GCEO’s role in his absence in ensuring business continuity,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sime Darby’s premises nationwide are closed from March 18 to 31 in accordance with the Motion Control Order.

The company has embarked on a business continuity plan and all employees in Malaysia will work remotely.
