Five Movies You Might Want To Watch About Pandemic With Desperate Races To Find A Cure

The presence of the COVID-19 pandemic is not the first, the world has experienced various outbreaks before its presence. The fact that then makes the filmmaker shows his creation.

Some stories are fiction, but some are inspired by real experiences dealing with dangerous viruses such as bird flu, SARS, and PES. Aside from being entertaining, these shows can also be learning materials for dealing with outbreaks.

Here are some out-of-the-ordinary pandemic movies you might check out.

1. Contagion (2011)

The story, about a virus that sweeps the world and kills people within days of infection, is gripping.

2. The Hot Zone (2019)

The Hot Zone TV series that was shown on Fox is an adaptation of Richard Preston’s book. This series tells about the discovery of the Ebola virus in chimpanzees in a Virginia research laboratory in 1989 for which there is no cure.

A US Army scientist then dedicated his life to being the front line to prevent the spread of the virus.

3. The Flu (2013)

The Flu is about the dangerous H5N1 virus or bird flu that is endemic in the Bundang district in Seongnam, South Korea. Initially, this virus was detected from the bodies of illegal immigrants from the Philippines.

Then the virus spread and caused thousands of people to become infected and deadly within 36 hours. The situation became uncontrollable, but the officials ignored the anticipation of quarantine until finally the city was closed because the virus was still spreading.

4. Containment (2015)

Serial Containment tells about a mysterious epidemic that causes the city to quarantine. A policeman, Lex Carnahan, was then tasked with maintaining peace.

5. Virus (2019)

The Indian film titled Virus was inspired by a plague of the Nipah virus that spread in South India in 2018. It tells the story of a group of volunteers working together to find the cause of the terror after a village in Kozhikode became the initial source of transmission of the virus. 

6. 12 Monkeys (1995)

12 Monkeys tell the story of the situation in 2035 when the human population is only one percent living due to a deadly virus outbreak. Various methods are used to stay alive and safe.

7. Black Death (2011)

A dangerous virus outbreak that occurred in the 14th century killed almost half the population of Europe, this event is known as The Black Death. The film revolves around a group of knights, Ulrich (Sean Bean) and Osmond (Eddie Raymande) who travel when this plague strikes.
