The pilot in Kobe Bryant helicopter crash was believed to became disoriented in the heavy fog as said by the federal investigators yesterday. The helicopter was crashed outside Los Angeles in January, killing basketball legends Kobe Bryant and his daughter.
As stated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the pilot, Ara Zobayan has told air traffic controllers that the chopper was climbing out of heavy fog. But in fact, it was descending immediately before slamming into a hillside near the town of Calabasas. Zobayan was killed in the accident.
Added the board, pilots will be confuse about an aircraft’s attitude and acceleration when they cannot see the landscape or a sky around them.
“Without outside references or attention to the helicopter’s attitude display, the actual pitch and bank angles have the potential to be misperceived,” said NSTB.
Kobe Bryant, a legendary basketball player accompany her 13 years old daughter to a youth basketball tournament at the time of the accident. All of the people in the helicopter crash was killed including them.
