Five Best Food To Eat For Liver Health

The liver is an important organ in the body. Liver function as filtering blood from the digestive tract and passing it throughout the body. Maintaining liver health can be done by eating foods that are good for the liver.

The liver also functions to filter out food juices and produce bile. It is also working as detoxifying chemicals or poisons. 

Some diseases that can attack the liver include hepatitis, cirrhosis, cancer, and liver failure. Here is the list of vegetables that are good for the liver:

1. Broccoli

Studies show broccoli can protect the liver from non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Broccoli is rich in fiber which is good for liver health. These vegetables also contain vitamins and minerals that have antioxidant functions that help prevent inflammation.

2. Green tea

Steep green tea is also rich in antioxidants, one of which is catechins. Quoted from Web MD, studies show catechins can help prevent a number of cancers, including liver cancer.

3. Spinach

Green vegetables like spinach have powerful antioxidants like glutathione. This type of antioxidant helps keep the liver working properly.

4. Coffee

Studies in Web MD show coffee is beneficial for protecting the liver from damage due to fat and alcohol. Other studies have also found coffee to reduce the risk of liver cancer.

5. Nuts

Nuts, especially almonds, are a source of vitamin E. Studies have found that vitamin E can help prevent fatty liver disease. In addition to eating nutritious foods, also avoid consuming unhealthy fatty foods. Because if left unchecked, this habit will make the heart work harder.

Web MD said it functions to reduce sugar consumption because the sugar will be processed into bad fats for the liver. 

In addition, avoid fast food and processed foods. Eating foods that are bad for liver health can gradually make parts of this organ become inflamed, triggering the emergence of a number of diseases.

Include foods that are good for the liver in the daily diet to keep the heart-healthy. Also, consume enough water to help the liver work properly.
