(Video) Two Kids Jump From 3rd Floor Window to Escape Fire

Two children have been saved from an apartment that was under fire when they dropped themselves about 10 meters from a window. The children were then caught in the arms of people standing below the building.

The two brothers, aged 10 and 3 were believed to be unharmed by the fall but they might have suffered from the smoke inhalation.

It is reported that they had to jump 10 meters from the window after they could not leave as the door was locked. The incident was caught on video by the neighbors who lived nearby the apartment. The video shows people gather below the burning apartment.

At that time, the elder brother lowered his 3-year-old brother out of the window and into the arms of the rescuers waiting below before jumping down himself.

Both of them were then hospitalized with other residents of the building and some rescuers. One of the rescuers named Athoumani Walid, a 25-year-old student suffered a broken wrist while catching the children.

He said he heard shouting and quickly rushed towards the burning building to help the other rescuers.

“I saw the two children screaming. They were at the window on the third floor. There was a lot of smoke, flames, explosions, even inside the building. The children were scared. They were crying,” said Walid.

“We didn’t know what to do. We wanted to break the door but it wasn’t possible,” he added.
Further investigation has been done to identify the cause of the fire.
