A passenger in China was arrested after allegedly ‘seizing’ a bus steering wheel in an attempt to get off the bus between stops.
The woman is believed to have missed her destination due to sleep and was very angry when she woke up and realized that she was on another road in southern Fujian province.
During a CCTV recording, the woman was seen kicking the bus door in anger and shouting at the driver before attacking the driver.
The incident was believed to have taken place on a bus in Putian town at around 1.30 pm on Thursday.
The footage also showed that the woman was the only passenger on the bus.
The driver stopped the bus at the next stop but the woman did not get off. The door was locked as she tried to approach it.
The unidentified woman told police she would not attack the bus driver if another passenger was there.
Police have charged the woman with criminal charges for allegedly endangering public safety in a dangerous manner.
According to the Chinese supreme authority, anyone who found guilty of committing the offense will be sentenced to death if the circumstances are serious.
