Farmer In China Stunned At A Mutant Newborn Calf

Lately, we have heard a lot of weird stories that are related with mutation issues. The mutation has been very common these days as we have been dealing with chemicals a lot than can results in a mutation.

According to the National Human Genome Research Institute, the mutation happened when there is a change in the DNA sequence. Other than exposure to chemicals, a mutation can also happen due to mistakes during cell division, exposure to ionizing radiation, or infection by viruses.

In southern China, a newborn calf was born with two heads, two ears, two mouths, and four eyes. This news had gained a lot of interest in the people in Dejiang County, Guizhou Province.

According to the owner known as auntie Zhang, the calf was born last Saturday after seven-hour labor. That was her first time to encounter with a cow that was born in this way after she has been living for 70-years, she said.

The calf was unable to stand up but could drink milk from both mouths. The calf believed to share the same throat and could grow four horns, said the expert. The expert also claimed that the calf is in a good condition and can grow healthier.

The mutation that happened to the calf may be affected by the genetic mutation while it is still inside its mother’s uterus.
