5 Foods That Help To Soothe Your Headache

Headache is a problem that occurs to people regularly. Having a headache is something that will distract you from your daily routine especially when you are working and can decrease your performance at work. Skipping breakfast, work pressure, a sleepless night, or stressful days will easily trigger the headache to happen. Here we have lists five food than can help in reducing the headache.

1. Wheat-Grain Toast

One of the reasons that cause headaches is when someone is low on carbohydrates. Low-carb intake leads to depletion of glycogen in the body, which is the main source of energy to the brain. Low- carb also causes fluid loss, which means dehydration and then headache. Having carbs when you are on your headache, is not just soothe it, it is also can improve your mood.

2. Ginger

Ginger is known well in providing relief from several health conditions. Also, the root of the ginger can block prostaglandins (neurotransmitters that play a role in inflammation) and provide relief from headaches and migraines. Ginger can be served as a tea or just simply add ginger to your food.

3. Watermelon

The major cause of headaches is dehydration where you have a low amount of water in your body. Drinking water or eating-rich foods can help to soothe your condition. Watermelon is a good choice to rehydrate you which contains 92 percent of water. It is also packed with nutrients like potassium and magnesium, which good for headaches.

4. Spinach

Spinach contains a high amount of magnesium, which is a nutrient that is known for its headache alleviating properties. A cup of spinach contains about 24 milligrams of magnesium. Studies also suggest that regular intake of magnesium can reduce migraine attacks by 41.2 percent.

5. Yogurt

A high amount of riboflavin, a part of the B vitamin that can be found in yogurt can be effective on headaches. Calcium deficiency from the yogurt also decreases the ability of the brain to work efficiently.
