(Video) Futuristic Flying ‘AirCar’, Sports Car That Can Transform To Mini Plane

A group of technicians has created a sports car that can be transformed into a mini plane. Referred to as ‘AirCar’, it was developed by Slovakian company Klein Vision.

The car can be transformed from a road vehicle into a mini plane in less than three minutes.

An incredible test flight video on Youtube shows the two-seater sports car with a cockpit-like cabin departing at Piestany airport in Slovakia.

Klein Vision pilot and chief technology officer Professor Stefan Klein turned on the engine and launched a retractable wing of a sports car.

It can be seen in just three minutes, it lifts from the ground as it rises to an altitude of 1,500 feet before returning to the ground.

The AirCar weighs only 1,100kg and can accommodate an additional weight of 200kg per flight. It also has a mileage of around 1,000km and can reach impressive speeds of up to 200kph (124mph).

According to the Daily Star, the company hopes to see the vehicle used for leisure purposes or as a flying taxi in the near future.

“With AirCar you will arrive at your destination without the hassle of getting a ride to the airport and passing through commercial security, you can drive your AirCar to the golf course, the office, the mall, or your hotel and park it in a normal parking space, “said Anton Zajac, Klein Vision’s co-founder, investor, and pilot.

While there are no further details on the price and launch date of the vehicle, Prof Klein said they already have a buyer.

“Following the completion of all required flight tests in compliance with EASA regulations, we will deliver a model with a certified ADEPT, 300HP engine within the next six next months. The good news is, we already have a buyer,” he said.
