Most of us definitely know that today is the date of Friday 13th. When talking about Friday 13th, surely many are familiar with one of the most popular horror movie characters, Jason Voorhees.

The date is very significant with Jason’s character where the masked character made his first appearance in the film ‘Friday the 13th’ which was released in 1980.

Still, did you know there are five interesting facts about Jason Voorhees that you need to know? Here are the facts:

1) Jason Was Not The First Villain Of Friday The 13th

For those who do not know, Jason is not the original villain in the movie Friday The 13th (1980). In fact, he is one of the three villains in the famous franchise. However, Jason is still the most popular character emerging from the motivation of the first villain, his mother Pamela Voorhees.

After the death of her son (Jason), Pamela Voorhees acts out of control by killing anyone who enters Camp Crystal Lake. This is due to an incident at the camp in the past that led to Jason’s death. However, Pamela’s death finally culminated with Jason Voorhees taking over her mother’s duties.

2) Jason Became A Zombie In The 6th Film

Some of the traits that made Jason so great could not be fully realized until the 6th film. Titled ‘Jason Lives’, the characters in the first five parts of the film franchise are still human. A very durable and persistent human being.

However, after he died and was resurrected, his character became much stronger. It is almost difficult for Jason to be defeated where he can only be stopped by supernatural means.

3) Jason Start Using His Popular Mask By Part 3

Jason’s character is famous for his hockey masks. The mask design is simple but it manages to make the character very iconic. However, this mask did not appear for the first two films.

In the first film, that’s because the main villain is his own mother. In the second film, he is more dressed like a farmer with a bag that covers his whole head. However, in the third film, he was able to wear a hockey mask for the first time.

4) Jason Portrayed By A Lot Of Actors

Many actors can be said to have played the character of Jason Voorhees. According to IMDb, there are nine people acting as Jason characters.

Among them are Ari Lehman, Richard Brooker, C.J Graham, Derek Mears, and Tom Morga. Only one actor who played the most role that is Kane Hodder with four times in the film franchise.

5) Jason Designs Are Never Consistent

Jason’s design is almost inconsistent in every film franchise. Starting from the second film, he was designed to look like a father. From the third and fourth films, Jason wears an iconic hockey mask with a button-up shirt and jeans.

However, in the sixth and subsequent films, he is a zombie as well as the further differences shown in the seventh film. This shows how inconsistent Jason Voorhees’ design is.
