How To Store Strawberries & Keep Them Fresh Up To Two Weeks

According to WebMD, one way you can avoid having your produce go bad quickly is to buy it carefully in the first place.

Try these tips:

•    Don’t buy fruits or vegetables that are already bruised or damaged.
•    If you buy fruit that’s already cut, choose ones that are on ice or refrigerated.
•    When packing up fresh fruit and veggies, keep them away from raw meat or seafood.

But how about strawberry? How to store them properly and keep them fresh and delicious at the same time?

First!

  • Choose strawberries that do not wither and are not defective.
  • Press the strawberries to find out their freshness, fresh strawberries are not soft.
  • Note the color, must be bright red, do not choose a dull and not shiny color.

How to wash strawberries?

  • Wash with clean water to remove dirt attached to strawberries.
  • Soak in water with a little salt for 2 minutes and strain until dry.
  • Remove the rotten part so that the strawberries remain fresh.

How to store strawberries?

  • Once the strawberries are dry and clean, pour all the strawberries into an airtight container.
  • Store in the refrigerator. This method will keep the strawberries fresh for 2-3 days.
  • If you want to last longer can be stored in the freezer so that it can be used as ice cream or fresh juice whenever you want.

Tips to keep strawberries fresh before use

  • Usually, strawberries are sold by including the leaves. Choose strawberries with fresh green leaf color and bright red strawberry color. The large size indicates that the fruit is healthy and rich in flavor.
  • Immediately wash and store in the refrigerator in a closed container. Do not put it outside because the aroma can fade and dry quickly.
  • When to use, strawberries should first be placed in a room with room temperature. This is to help the absorption of vitamins.
