A ‘Naked Cake’? How To Make It?

A ‘Naked Cake’ or also called nude cake. At first glance, the cake is not ready or the cake is not enough. But this is the trend in the world of cake making. Why Naked Cake, because it can be said to be classic, simple, sexy but quite beautiful. To decorate it, some use fresh fruits, fresh flowers, and many more to suit.

One of the important elements in the production of Naked Cake is the selection of the type of cake and the combination with the type of frosting. Because you rely on these two elements to determine the shape of the cake produced.

Let’s take a look at the ingredients needed to decorate Naked Cake.

Ingredients needed:

  • Sponge cake (prepared in 3 sponge cakes)
  • Frosting
  • Cake topping like sugar pearls, fruit, fresh flowers
  • Piping bag
  • Piping tip (about 1/2 inch in diameter)
  • Spatula
  • Jagged knife

How to do it:

1. Prepare a sponge cake, cut the top layer of the cake, do as in the picture. Use a jagged knife, flatten the cake as neatly as possible. Apply on each sponge cake.

2. Second, you fill the piping bag with frosting. The piping bag is inserted into the piping tip and the end is cut off, press the frosting so that it is easy to decorate the cake.

3. Place frosting on each layer of cake.

4. Arrange the last layer of cake upside down so that the top remains flat and crumb-free.

5. Use a spatula to balance the frosting and flatten the top of the cake.

6. This is the time to show your creativity. Try arranging sugar pearls, fresh fruit, and flowers on top of the cake. You can follow the example as in the picture. Here no rules are required, you can freely decorate according to creativity.
