Don’t Underestimate It, Here Is What You Need to Know About Bell’s Palsy

Malaysian society must have known recently that popular singer and actress Adibah Noor suffered from Bell’s Palsy, a nerve problem that attacked her left side of her face for almost a month.

Alhamdulillah, through Adibah Noor’s latest update on her Instagram account, stated that her health is gradually improving.

However, do you all know what Bell’s Palsy is? According to a tweet by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), Bell’s Palsy occurs when one of the nerves that control the muscles in the face becomes damaged or stops functioning.

If this condition occurs, you should seek specialist treatment immediately. The following are the symptoms of Bell’s Palsy disease stated by the MOH:

  • Inability to close eyes completely and drooping in one eye
  • Sensitive to sounds on the affected side
  • Drooping at one corner of the mouth (tilted)
  • Loss of sense of taste in front of the tongue
